Jan 6: So far we’ve been on the road for 5 days. I am struck by how all of the area we’ve been driving through is all the same. Mall after shopping center after Wal-Mart Super Center. Here we are in Birmingham, AL. We might as well be in New Jersey. On this trip I am searching for the unique side of America, if it still exists. - Helen

Art has always been a passion of mine. Now that I am retired I feel so fortunate that I can more fully indulge this passion and share it with others. I've played with art most of my life, but have not had a formal art education. I suppose my practical side thought that it was just a hobby and certainly too frivalous to pursue. Boy, was I wrong! Now I am making up for lost time and taking myself seriously as an artist. I show my work locally and have won some awards. Whenever I can I take art classes and workshops from wonderful artists. I have learned so much from them.
